Title: We are CLEARING THE QUAD SATURDAY!!!! 2/20/10

Let's clear the field!!!   They need us this Saturday...all of us.   The snow is hurting everyone and it needs to go!!!

Due to the historic amount of snowfall in the last two weeks, the QUAD and Stadium are buried under 24” plus of snow.  This is not only stopping some of our teams from training and playing “snowflake” games, but it is also putting the First Annual Frostbite Ruby Tournament and Third Annual Academy Cup in danger of being cancelled.  These two events generate  a  significant  amount of revenue for our programs and are events we want to host.

Plowing these fields is NOT an option due to warranty issues, so we are organizing the first ever Penn Legacy / Rugby Team “Bucket Brigade”.   This Saturday at 1:00 PM, all available players, parents, friends and families are requested to come to the HHS Stadium Parking Lot equipped with buckets (yes – Your choice of bucket , No Shovels need apply! )…   We will split up into 3 groups and manually remove the snow from  selected spots on the fields leaving only 1” to 2”.   Our friend, “MR SUN” should take care of the rest.  The theory is that with spots on the turf now open to the enchantments of Mr. Sun, we will begin to have a double melt - both top and bottom.

We are hoping to have a couple hundred volunteers to help in this effort.  If we get those types of numbers, we anticipate a one hour event that will be immortally captured by our club photographer and posted on our web site.

All kidding aside, we really need your help.   Our Rugby players and U09 through U12 Soccer players want host these important events and get ready for their upcoming season.  Without action and your help, this will not be possible…

Please make the time on Saturday (2/20/2010) to volunteer and move some snow…
